When I was in New Mexico I visited the Acoma village which was situated on a mesa, thus its other name is Sky City. Here is where you find Acoma pottery with it’s intricately painted black and white geometric designs painted with a yucca brush. 
I also visited a Taos Mission – mission architecture, with its soft edges and massive hand sculpted walls. 
The painting is tied together with a pattern from a 19th century Navajo rug.
